Mindfulness tip

Greetings, meditator friends!

It's Monday and many of us are back at work (some of us being back last week)!  Remember that transitions can be difficult and I want to invite you to be gentle with yourself today and throughout this challenge.

Being gentle with ourselves involves self-compassion, and one essential requirement of self-compassion is self-acceptance.

Whatever your motivation may have been for signing up for this challenge, please remember that you are perfectly imperfect the way you are.  Meditation and mindfulness are not for the purpose of self-improvement.  Instead, they are strategies and habits of mind that help create more clarity, calm, and ease in your life.

As you practice, this clarity tends to reveal parts of ourselves usually obscured by the busy-ness of life and of our minds.  And sometimes we may not be pleased with what we see. 

All of this is part of the journey, and the resulting challenge is to radically accept ourselves and all of the "crap" that comes with being a human being.  And, the trick is to bring the same level of compassion and gentleness to ourselves as we would to a loved one.
