Greetings, meditator friends!
When people greet one another, particularly after not connecting for a while, the answer to the question "How are you?" or "How are things going?" tends to be "Busy."
We are all quite busy most of the time, whether meeting the demands of work, keeping up with family activities, or just trying to make a dent in our never ending list of things to do.
Your meditation practice is an opportunity to take a break from this busyness and to give yourself the gift of self-care through mindful stillness. (Even though it may seem you repeatedly keep thinking about all the things you have to do while meditating). :-)
The increased self-awareness that comes with mindfulness and meditation will allow you to more easily notice when things feel too busy, and I would invite you to slow down when you feel this disconnection described in today's quote.
While there is value in being a productive person, it won't matter how much you got done if you are disconnected from the people you are doing it all for.
